Best Kitchenaid Coffee Grinder Review

Many of us cant get through the day without coffee. The smell, the armoa and the taste wakes us up. However, to get good coffee, you need freshly ground coffee. Buying whole beans as opposed to preground coffee is the way to go. Kitchenaid, best known for their mixer has come out with their own line of grinder. They are built to a higher standard than the competition, but does it mean theyre any good. Not to mention the different types of grinder they have. Nevertheless, the Best Kitchenaid Coffee Grinder uses a burr grinder with a heavy metal base.

What is a Coffee Grinder

A Coffee Grinder is a device designed to grind coffee. It turns whole beans into smaller pieces. The quality of the coffee grinder is judge by how even the beans are grind. Even coffee grinds means even extraction resulting is better flavor.

Kitchenaid Blade and Burr Coffee Grinder

Kitchenaid makes two type of Coffee Grinder, Burr and Blade. Most people have they blade type grinder. What that is is a blade that spins around. It puliverize the bean until you let go of the button. Even grinds is a bit of a challenge for these type of grinder. However, if you grind it really fine, eventually they will be the same size. They’re not that great for espresso.

Burr grinder have two burr on top of each other. They usually perform better and grinds are more even. If you have the money, its recommended over the blade. Prices are usually significantly more. The bad thing about Kitchenaid is that even their burr grinder is not good for espresso.

How to Use Kitchenaid Grinder

For the blade grinder, start by loading the beans into the hopper. Cover it and press the button. For best results, grab the grinder and shake while it grinds. This gets all the bean in contact with the blade.

For the Burr grinder, load the bean into the hopper and select the grind setting. Coarser grinds are for french press. I recommend using a burr grinder for this. For finer grinds like drip coffee, a blade grinder is acceptable.

Best Kitchenaid Coffee Grinder List

Below, you will find a list of some of the Best Kitchenaid Coffee Grinder. These models comes with slightly different configuration, choose one that best suits you.

KitchenAid KCG8433BM Burr Grinder (Best Overall)

This model by Kitchenaid is one of the best they have to offer. It has easy to read and use lcd screen to help you select the perfect grind. The container are made of plastic for durability and static resistance. This means that when you pour the grinds, it wont cling on. However, I would only use these for drip and french press. Espresso performance is a bit lackluster.

KitchenAid KCG0702CS(Best Build Quality)

Want something built like a Tank? This model is all metal with glass hopper and container. When you pick it up, you feel just how much they put into this grinder. To adjust the grind setting, just turn the knob at front. However, grind consistency is not that great. I think its inferior to our best overall. Nevertheless, for standard drip and french press, its good enough.

KitchenAid Blade Grinder (Best Buy)

Blade Grinders are simple and effective. While the grind might not be as uniform, it works for most people. Burr grinders are usually reserved for the most dedicated coffee lover. But for the rest of the world, this works just fine. Especially if you dont want to invest too much into it. The build quality is also a notch above other blade grinder.

Thoughts

A coffee grinder is necessary to bring your coffee to the next level. The flavor is just that much better than pre ground coffee. The burr grinder are the best to get, with the easy to use digital screen being the most convenient. However, both the burr grinder are expensive. If you are on the fence and just want a grinder, then get the blade grinder. Its a excellent segway into grinding your own beans.
