Best Quiche Pan

Quiche is one of the best pastry to eat. It is the perfect combination of taste, texture and flavor. The flake and buttery texture of the pastry goes well with the egg mixture. However, using the wrong quiche pan can easily ruin your dish. Considering how long it takes to make, one would try to reduce the possibility of failure. Some design such as a nonstick coating or a removable bottom helps prevent this. Other has a preference towards presentation. While they all make good quiche, not all are created equal.

Quiche Pan Types

The traditional Quiche pan is a simple tin pan with ruffled edges. They conduct heat well and bakes a perfect crust. However, the issue with this is that they often stick to the pan. You have to butter it throughly to get it to unmold.

Modern version of the quiche pan will have a removable bottom. This means that all you need to do is press it from the bottom and it should pop out. Pans with a nonstick coating means that its even easier to remove. You dont have to worry about the sides tearing.

Quiche Spring Form Pans do not exist. Your only option for a spring form pan, is a spring form pan. There simply isnt one that mimics the ruffle shape. Manufacturing this design was probably too cost to do so.

Metals and Materials

There are a few different type of metal used for Quiche Pans. The most common variation with nonstick coating is carbon steel. They tend to be heavy but can hold heat well. Aluminum is another common metal. They are the best conductor of heat and generally browns very evenly.

If you want a Quiche Pan for presentation, then you will typically go for Ceramic Quiche Pans. You can find a wide variety of color in this category. Just be aware that ceramic takes a while to heat up and its one of the hardest to unmold. You have to butter it really well otherwise it will tear. If you plan on serving the quiche in the pan, then you can leave it as is. Which is the option that I would opt for.

Quiche Pan vs Pie Pan

Some might try to use a regular pie pan as a substitute. You might be able to get it to work, just be ware that you have to adjust the recipe and cooking time. Quiche pan are a lot lower than a regular pie pan. The time it takes to cook the center all the way through is a lot lower. If you dont cook it through properly, you will be left with a runny center.
